These e-mails are just a tease. Get this car to us, Alfa! Get it to us now!

I wonder how Alfa will do when they finally get a complete lineup here. Or if Peugeot, Renault, Citroen come back? I suppose the issue is what they bring to the table.

I saw a Giulia Quadrifoglio still in wrap, driving around near the Alfa/Fiat dealer here a couple weeks ago. Since then, I now always take my phone when I’m out walking the dogs.

The problem with Alfa is that they don’t have much of a range. They’ve got the Giulia and 4C. The other two (MiTo and Giulietta) are 8 and 6 years old and should be replaced. Even with those around their lineup is far from complete. PSA (Peugeot Citroën) and Renault have very full lineups from a European market perspective. Lineups with lots of very competitive cars. In Europe.
What they will bring to the US is something else. Americans have weird taste. Hulking crossovers and sedans with an overkill in hp because of comically cheap gas, marketing and apparently onramps that are too short (or incompetent drivers). Neither vehicle segment sells much in Europe, with the exception of small crossovers, meaning that the French don’t offer much in those segments. Well, not in Europe, they might in second/third world markets.

My sister and brother-in-law have a Fiat/Chrysler connection, and I’m urging her to get whatever 4-door sedan Alfa brings over (to replace a Town & Country she no longer needs). I hope she’ll lend it to me once in a while.

“comically cheap gas” = gas with “only” 40-50% taxes slapped on instead of 400-500%.

It is the fifth-most popular boy’s name in the US. I mean, it’d have been a slightly more impressive coincidence if both your names had been “Raymond Luxury-Yacht” (Pronounced ‘Throat-Wobbler Mangrove’).
